Anoche, en mis sueños, hablé español con fluidez.</p><p>I cannot explain that. </p><p>Another dream. Here we go again, buying Christmas wrapping paper, making a list of people who would get a present. However, the secretary of the boss came to work, unexpectedly, and I had to hide the packages an wrapping papers. </p><p>She had her fluffy, white cat with her. </p><p>The cat peed on the baseboard in her office. Good Girl, the cat.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgQgwUSJMZ7mIsVM1h7ZmehwFgrZWF5xeeqOSZ43i32SRDtEPoBFucwXoBVBoK2J6W0e_yp9po3697U_n9g9-l6uhnTm96yjvHH5UQCf70ctXVS_zGgDvQ5iwZjRZaul1vRMSJ/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="183" data-original-width="275" height="176" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgQgwUSJMZ7mIsVM1h7ZmehwFgrZWF5xeeqOSZ43i32SRDtEPoBFucwXoBVBoK2J6W0e_yp9po3697U_n9g9-l6uhnTm96yjvHH5UQCf70ctXVS_zGgDvQ5iwZjRZaul1vRMSJ/w255-h176/image.png" width="255" /></a>this picture is from </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.cuteness.com/article/stop-cat-pooping-carpet">How to Stop a Cat From Pooping on the Carpet | Cuteness</a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p>Yesterday we received <span face=""Open Sans", sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-size: 12px;">AstraZeneca's COVID vaccine at our doctor's office</span>. No problem, no pain, no side effects, as they could be possible. Well, I wouldn't want any freebies from that anyway. All is good.</p><p>I did get a cortisone shot on my frozen shoulder. That one hasn't gotten better yet. </p><p><br /></p><p>My book shopping might have caused some problems. I bought a book yesterday, at Shoppers DM. Came home, and sure enough I have the same book on my read list. Oh, what to do now. I had the receipt, put the book back in the SDM plastic bag, and planned to return it. However, at the doctor's office, we were treated by the doc's nurse, whom we like very much. I gave the book to her. I think you monsters have already run amok enough here on earth. Time for you to move out.</p><p>There are far too many deaths, sicknesses, and we don't even know what else. This is not good. </p><p>My personal beef is nothing compared with the pain and suffering with the Covid-19 affected population. I am sorry for being sometimes upset that I won't have pedicure, or a haircut. Or go to a grocery shopping without fear that someone, not wearing a mask, is pumping into me.</p><p>I cringe when I see non-mask wearing selfish people in the stores. Perhaps it's not you, but we all need the protection. Stay home, if you are against the mask. Here: La verdadera maldición es la ignorancia (the real curse is ignorance).</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9FiqnjaZNTXItkcWdwOEbQ0Ru4McMot6Oz32W-1Fq2tXL4no7G28YXk44WruiRXBE-y7Eol3zNtDwqs-3m7d172-aSIxDZypyUoNqe-QDf6sqmu4q-9j3jP78GRVgohDdfhny/s398/wear+a+mask+emoji.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="398" data-original-width="398" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9FiqnjaZNTXItkcWdwOEbQ0Ru4McMot6Oz32W-1Fq2tXL4no7G28YXk44WruiRXBE-y7Eol3zNtDwqs-3m7d172-aSIxDZypyUoNqe-QDf6sqmu4q-9j3jP78GRVgohDdfhny/s320/wear+a+mask+emoji.png" /></a><span style="text-align: left;"> That's it for nagging about the Covid-19 situation. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div>I have ordered two books from Amazon, they are both paperback ones. Yesterday at 6, this morning 6:30. Reminds me of the working days. Did I ever mention that I am retired, and have earned the right to sleep into the noon hours. Staying up and reading into wee hours at night.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP4c1zHsb6s3Vl-k_rl9VlcGGV-o-U621uaij9Y-JyeuWfR-dKjTzpwa9Lrwaq-87ecDq-R1P-Hja9wBdlWnnVWDFZ4F73oEVZPmlPHtWlxC8z4Dh_3yhUKXXhXDOwYTsiRH_M/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="340" data-original-width="340" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP4c1zHsb6s3Vl-k_rl9VlcGGV-o-U621uaij9Y-JyeuWfR-dKjTzpwa9Lrwaq-87ecDq-R1P-Hja9wBdlWnnVWDFZ4F73oEVZPmlPHtWlxC8z4Dh_3yhUKXXhXDOwYTsiRH_M/" width="240" /></a>Now, a huge cup of coffee might be a cure for this morning's irritation.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We were watching a neighbour's balcony event: on the 8th floor, there was a hawk. Fist I thought it was dead, hanging from the balcony rail. Then he started moving .</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Finally the hawk was free and flew away. Hubby was taking pictures with a strong zoom and from there he was able to see that two pigeons were stuck in a net, and the hawk tried to get them. However, one of the pigeons fell on the balcony floor and the hawk flew away.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's a huge problem here, specially now when it's pigeons romancing time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">There are quite a few hawks<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu2Yzq12pwnfH95hHmLjjFVoNFKzPJ2aPLYJ_HgVLSrNRVu3Hst0PclAhERWc5zXG3FmVyqm05WYbDmCohh9JrEVq6Y2UHFgxP26vDKWrwFJs0BCaM4QoBWbM644obDdliy6sU/s2048/ADO_0499+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu2Yzq12pwnfH95hHmLjjFVoNFKzPJ2aPLYJ_HgVLSrNRVu3Hst0PclAhERWc5zXG3FmVyqm05WYbDmCohh9JrEVq6Y2UHFgxP26vDKWrwFJs0BCaM4QoBWbM644obDdliy6sU/s320/ADO_0499+%25282%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /> around these buildings, and hubby takes pictures of Hawks and pigeons here. Out in the parks are other birds. His pictures of different birds are amazing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today is another day without knitting or crocheting. I hope I can stay away for a few weeks, so that my aching arm and thumb will heal. It's tough, as I have seen so many started projects that I want to finish, but I really should be smart and behave. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxt4RKepVdCcBb0iOHgmQWGlFU9WT2X1xZlL0VP2TNDJ3zMoY_R7C1ip0VYQXaNfeMYBbBzqR_6AQLrghGzeBgyo9EJx8l6V1v9gYfazoBtgTvHMcmFt1ZNMIEGAxPfZyWfHkw/s2048/20201122_161014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2001" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxt4RKepVdCcBb0iOHgmQWGlFU9WT2X1xZlL0VP2TNDJ3zMoY_R7C1ip0VYQXaNfeMYBbBzqR_6AQLrghGzeBgyo9EJx8l6V1v9gYfazoBtgTvHMcmFt1ZNMIEGAxPfZyWfHkw/s320/20201122_161014.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWFXoKvJkasDdVP8Epst-pYNUfGM0uPplDcLCcMD1TkVhyHmEACaqBub9WZnDmcsbMYE_pEhOSHGpMl3fnNJelfVu0PuL-wv2OD45NXvwaydm8qRwAuOdPZ9HoT1STJHoB0j3C/s1920/20150723_153225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1920" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWFXoKvJkasDdVP8Epst-pYNUfGM0uPplDcLCcMD1TkVhyHmEACaqBub9WZnDmcsbMYE_pEhOSHGpMl3fnNJelfVu0PuL-wv2OD45NXvwaydm8qRwAuOdPZ9HoT1STJHoB0j3C/s320/20150723_153225.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisYDL9g4AessKQ-YhgHrE4O7mTuj7KDWUonuBTlChNwhny1xpZeLmBlrtLeJ8ShUBhe0S9AsLIUzY4klBCKssLeBIQtQlT35xcOzSoMTvwXRft7907al21GVtebj9BY3BOyCdx/s2048/February+2013+Sock+start.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1126" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisYDL9g4AessKQ-YhgHrE4O7mTuj7KDWUonuBTlChNwhny1xpZeLmBlrtLeJ8ShUBhe0S9AsLIUzY4klBCKssLeBIQtQlT35xcOzSoMTvwXRft7907al21GVtebj9BY3BOyCdx/s320/February+2013+Sock+start.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08Tjq5aRkb3cuJKx52e8NmhqkeC_FzQxF8DEE7AQBNMrG-UwFj_3-rzcuP8ATjH6UXk_N_IHVY7IjlaRA0npktEEM7b8EfhWiO2hmLm5oTtZJxPTLMdEhjKCMFTtV_0QyTeir/s2048/20180702_155812.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1959" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08Tjq5aRkb3cuJKx52e8NmhqkeC_FzQxF8DEE7AQBNMrG-UwFj_3-rzcuP8ATjH6UXk_N_IHVY7IjlaRA0npktEEM7b8EfhWiO2hmLm5oTtZJxPTLMdEhjKCMFTtV_0QyTeir/s320/20180702_155812.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Unfortunately these are only a few of my WIPs (Work In Process). I've done it, and process is slow. </p><p>Yesterday I decided to crochet a small pouch for some useless little trinkets. or for potpourri and hide it in the underwear drawer. </p><p>My crochet yarn is multicoloured, so any mistakes won't show easily. It's Clea, made in Brazil. Fine with me, and fine to get nice results .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6YqIHB9WpO182b3e_8iH-CESesxKihXRzVnytQi9xBZ4sWFbYf2ic1ui9ixR2C-HgEYLP_li4ykrdoqZLNNC-3LqFDcWJssbv3QLdrNzO684KlhQNE2MPVUIaQ6dwynoeCI6X/s2048/20210223_131949.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="175" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6YqIHB9WpO182b3e_8iH-CESesxKihXRzVnytQi9xBZ4sWFbYf2ic1ui9ixR2C-HgEYLP_li4ykrdoqZLNNC-3LqFDcWJssbv3QLdrNzO684KlhQNE2MPVUIaQ6dwynoeCI6X/w253-h175/20210223_131949.jpg" width="253" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The other piece is a slightly freeformish item, which will become a phone cover, or something else, I have a mind to decide on a project, and another mind to change it. Being a retiree, and also in quarantine, the days seem to be one continuing string of time moments. Sometimes the string is thick and other days thin, and those thin days are when nothing important happens in the mind. </p><p>I have a friend, far, far away. Have not seen her in over eons. We have been e-mailing some, but not very often. The last one came in 2014. Some friend I am. TSK TSK.</p><p>However, this friend came to my dreams last night. I tried to call her, but I had a wrong number. From somewhere, she told me of her new number. </p><p>I called and called, and finally I got an answer, and we met downstairs in the lobby. My friend was my friend as I remembered her. We talked and talked, and I felt good. </p><p>Her birthday was yesterday.</p><p><br /></p><p>Other events from the lost days: Frogged (unravel) a brim from a knitted hat. It was too loose. The hat will have a new brim, knit 1, purl 1 ribbing. Then I'll decide what to do with it. I also have two blue hats on the process. </p><p><br /></p><p>When I was working, my boss was with me for 40 years. My dreams include her quite often. As well as last night. Apparently she has 3 houses in the city, and I live in one of them. </p><p>I bet she would like that to be true. In many dreams I still work in that office, and she is the boss. Her assistant, and rest of the staff are the same. The only difference is the layout of the rooms. I also work part time in my dreams, and then eventually retire.</p><p>These dreams appear quite often. The road to the building is always the same, which really doesn't exist in reality. But it's there, the same lines, same traffic lights, same </p><p>and same. Always, many times. </p><p>I finished the book "Infinite", and another one "Hangman" by a Canadian author, Louise Penny. Right now I have "Mind Games" by B.B. Griffith, "The Woman Outside My Door" by Rachel Ryan, and also "The Wrong Family" by Tarryn Fisher. I won't list more, since this sounds like a book stash to be read before my time is up. (Kindle e-read books? don't even go there)</p><p>Yarn stash has grown a little bit, and I am somewhat irked with myself for having impulses for new projects, that need new yarn. I have zillion skeins, balls, hanks of yarn that will never be used for anything. Therefore, I have decided that instead of yarn, I'll buy books. </p><p>This will not hurt my knitting fingers and wrists. Reading is safer. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8s_b1cGtHBA1D_t4dfELZR7EIqcB6-iGhMz4p_UrscCXC0BFtSHsBFHbluhtizYb5_E_crX5BEi-0K4NSJ6tdGvH3vt6Z6ZILaR7v8bKGjm3P8hYxDuSgy8HWJ47vDJtozsZa/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="515" data-original-width="526" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8s_b1cGtHBA1D_t4dfELZR7EIqcB6-iGhMz4p_UrscCXC0BFtSHsBFHbluhtizYb5_E_crX5BEi-0K4NSJ6tdGvH3vt6Z6ZILaR7v8bKGjm3P8hYxDuSgy8HWJ47vDJtozsZa/" width="245" /></a></div><br /><p></p><h3 class="iw" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: auto; background-color: white; color: #5f6368; font-family: Roboto, RobotoDraft, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 0.75rem; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0.3px; line-height: 20px; margin: inherit; max-width: calc(100% - 8px); overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap;"><br /></h3>Pirkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06342744450134406896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14851203.post-271569667066901982021-02-14T13:43:00.000-05:002021-02-14T13:43:20.283-05:00Group savings<p> A call came from somewhere, Darla, or something, she told me to form a group of 10 people, each paying $100. Then, after 1month to get together and have a feast, or a cake or something fun. I said, the overweight and diabetic people could not have a cake. I don't want to join. I was both of them.</p><p>Eventually, there was a group. We had a lunch, with many different foods. The cake that was bought a few weeks ago, was stale, the brie cheese had a strange smell, EEEWW. Testing this said design can be frustrating because there isn't enough yarn. </p><p>You run from one store to another trying to find more yarn. There are stores with beautiful yarns, but nothing what you are looking for. Finally you realize that you are trying pants on in a discount store. </p><p>In my yarn searching travels I visit stores in Chicago, New York. I know how to get there on </p><p>the highway number 30. Oh, and I will know that I've been there before, because I see my sister-in-law's old apartment building. There are not yarn stores nearby. </p><p>Giving up, back to home I go. Looking around in the basement; so many bags, full of yarn.</p><p>Collecting some clothes and start doing laundry. </p><p>No new design done, there is a stitch running amok. Not really, but it's a mess,</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrfHnertDQbTWBwD6Ho1VpVtZi4eUbRn_DNFFgmzXfXJ1wKhnvUnMuzdX5dntsPXPDJtmtLS5cNB6fqLtdCmXkkHRdszDzxTfkXLCtlWTyGJiGyyAFeeDZZ6wD22re-pd5ksGW/s2048/20171114_111211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1475" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrfHnertDQbTWBwD6Ho1VpVtZi4eUbRn_DNFFgmzXfXJ1wKhnvUnMuzdX5dntsPXPDJtmtLS5cNB6fqLtdCmXkkHRdszDzxTfkXLCtlWTyGJiGyyAFeeDZZ6wD22re-pd5ksGW/s320/20171114_111211.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /> <p></p>Pirkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06342744450134406896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14851203.post-77628880243874377542019-05-05T11:29:00.001-04:002019-05-05T11:29:27.812-04:00Some thoughts that come to mindWhen driving. There are many potholes on the roads, many uneven sections, and overall badly damaged roads. We complain, we do. We blame the city, we blame the powers that be.<br />
Then, all of a sudden, the roads are blocked, due to work crews. They are fixing the bad surfaces,<br />
fixing and making the driving better. We complain. The construction is a major cause for frustration while trying to get to your destination. <br />
What will we do, we complain.<br />
Happy now?Pirkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06342744450134406896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14851203.post-72104878098623520242018-05-31T20:53:00.003-04:002018-05-31T20:55:13.787-04:00It's been a whileI will try to get back to this blogging activity. It might take a while to get used to it, though.<br />
<br />
Right now I have 10 knit/crochet projects on my desk. I have suffered from "startitis" for some<br />
time now. That might have something to do with being bored with what is on the needles of hook.<br />
<br />
Facebook groups were in my activities for a while, but got tired of it, and left more than one<br />
group. Knitting and crocheting and some other ones. <br />
<br />
Doodling has not been on my list too much this year. There are some done but nothing to<br />
share. <br />

<li>Watching by the road when asphalt was layered on tired gravel and disappearing sand; covering the old road with something that looked like black muck.<br /> There was a wondrous odor filling the cool summer day. I liked it and was mesmerized how something so ugly would have such a beautiful smell. (Me, at age 16)</li>

<b></b><i></i><u></u><strike></strike><br />Pirkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06342744450134406896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14851203.post-84150841117326965722015-05-07T10:56:00.000-04:002015-05-07T10:58:25.649-04:00What is a slump?It's been a strange start of the spring. I have not gotten anything finished in knitting or crocheting.<br />
Sometimes those inadequate feelings just wrap me around like a blanket. Which reminds me that I have an unfinished granny square blanket somewhere. Not that I really care. <br />
To be critical of oneself is sometimes dangerous for someone who wants to create art. Any which way, drawing, painting, sculpting , knitting, crocheting, and any other method. Because it might stop a person to continue with a project. <br />
<br />
My slump blanket is decorated with self doubt, and "I am no good in this". There was a time when that didn't matter, whether I was good or not. I kept going and being happy. <br />
<br />
I am not saying that I am unhappy now, I am just full of crappy thoughts and those thoughts make me<br />
doubt my creativity. Am I repeating myself?<br />
<br />
Sometimes I wonder if I ever fit with any other group of people. I am only pushing myself to participate but still feel like an outsider.<br />
<br />
On the positive note, I have learned some new tricks in Brioche knitting. I had known the basics, but increasing and decreasing were a mystery. I think I have nailed the increasing quite well. I still have to stop and think the decreasing, since there are two leaning decreases, left and right. Important in<br />
A designed pattern. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhs9s3Cda7h9kYTrwmNFdLs7djQFxC_QpNq6g_y9QAexfVFZe6tSVBsnq7PoTiMsaPZaF2WbGNHeyT-ZWNKPtKP_XsLVusWU7hFnfnDmP-VpG-V-OrBBiLFWOVxW1ECbMaHZGX/s1600/unnamed+(5).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhs9s3Cda7h9kYTrwmNFdLs7djQFxC_QpNq6g_y9QAexfVFZe6tSVBsnq7PoTiMsaPZaF2WbGNHeyT-ZWNKPtKP_XsLVusWU7hFnfnDmP-VpG-V-OrBBiLFWOVxW1ECbMaHZGX/s320/unnamed+(5).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next step would be two colors, but that can wait, I have other projects started (did I mention that I have not finished anything for a while - started a few)<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjn32oQvf7OqfT3GhdUT9gMFb8BNQeZeqephkj0J3WhGz82OSnADaCpyTgmmvk43JyfecbXzry6kFefnjUYPQnewaBcjeig78v-2qR45jbWgdA-uWCiBsW8nnIkQTgotyYs-i-/s1600/unnamed+(6).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjn32oQvf7OqfT3GhdUT9gMFb8BNQeZeqephkj0J3WhGz82OSnADaCpyTgmmvk43JyfecbXzry6kFefnjUYPQnewaBcjeig78v-2qR45jbWgdA-uWCiBsW8nnIkQTgotyYs-i-/s200/unnamed+(6).jpg" width="200" /></a>This one would be (haha) a summer vest or top, on top of a tee-shirt. This will be done in Patons Grace cotton yarn. I am on a stash diet. Meaning I will use only yarns that are in my stash. Although I have a very itchy feeling to go and visit Yarn Guy, and see if he has any other colors than what I have. However, for those itches will disappear if I work on something else. Sad, isn't it. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ntDb_fchlXjWdCAemxc4D41Dl8egr6udQkRxO1D_jd8g8whNWRge1oWpITEiI7LhBeqM0HLFihC-IfBXsfbiDYzyl4zOc5_l0711ZNY6KnAS1k-jXcQfxiVznTLkYtSk9Ypc/s1600/unnamed+(7).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ntDb_fchlXjWdCAemxc4D41Dl8egr6udQkRxO1D_jd8g8whNWRge1oWpITEiI7LhBeqM0HLFihC-IfBXsfbiDYzyl4zOc5_l0711ZNY6KnAS1k-jXcQfxiVznTLkYtSk9Ypc/s200/unnamed+(7).jpg" width="153" /></a>Next on my started things is almost finished top. I have no idea when I started it, and why stopped. But here it is, in an unfinished form, and somewhat wrinkled, since it's been wrapped like a pile of yarn in a bag, for years. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQiSOP-ZdA35d7dg5c7hWebyaHI__uZR0emZf-Qbyjdk6IMGAfRXep9rKbNd-JWbUh9xZAQBWqe6X2YMo9rN7icEX3Bb8p-RTkGP4sYjkrwXyh0KPV9H0FsIwO4g5Q74zV8Gh_/s1600/mitered+squares+start.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQiSOP-ZdA35d7dg5c7hWebyaHI__uZR0emZf-Qbyjdk6IMGAfRXep9rKbNd-JWbUh9xZAQBWqe6X2YMo9rN7icEX3Bb8p-RTkGP4sYjkrwXyh0KPV9H0FsIwO4g5Q74zV8Gh_/s200/mitered+squares+start.jpg" width="149" /></a>The other project. Is also with <a href="https://www.google.ca/search?q=patons+grace&biw=1097&bih=515&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=unhLVZu5GIOPyASzmIHIBg&ved=0CEkQsAQ">Patons Grace cotton yarn,</a> a mitered squares top or something. I have tried to make summer tops many times, only a few have been finished. I might get these two finished before the summer is over.<br />
<br />
<br />
I made a <a href="http://scandinavianfood.about.com/od/beverages/r/SpringMead.htm">Sima</a> Drink for May 1st, but was not successful. I had dumped a whole bag of dry yeast, instead of miniscule amount. Also, I didn't have enough liquid. The Drink was somewhat alcoholic. Most of it I threw out.<br />
Some I drank, and felt oddly lightheaded, even though the alcohol amount<br />
Was very slight.<br />
<br />
The other day I made another dose of this<a href="http://scandinavianfood.about.com/od/beverages/r/SpringMead.htm"> Sima</a>, and so far so good, but not ready for drinking yet.<br />
<br />
And one more link . I am making a<a href="http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/07/grilled-mediterranean-chicken-and.html"> Mediterranean </a>salad for a group that is meeting soon. I have all the ingredients already. <br />
<br />
Now, if only I could get my inspiration come home, and sweep all the crappy thought webs from my blanket, and leave me with a fresh mind to finish something. <br />
<br />

I love that word "waddle" it reminds me of our Missy, the two and a half year old cat, who is slightly overweight. In human charts she would be obese.<br />
I have been thinking of ways to get her to walk with me in the hallways. She needs a leash. I am a little bit concerned that she would strangle me with it, or worse, use her claws like <a href="http://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CAcQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mezzacotta.net%2Fgarfield%2F%3Fcomic%3D1861&ei=9m4tVdTtKsyxadzrgOgJ&bvm=bv.90790515,d.cWc&psig=AFQjCNHyGGR9gFVTZ1cJmWkVt6EKjIyFkQ&ust=1429127207558990">Garfield </a>cat does.<br />

<br />
<br />
I have a nasty habit to sway off the topic, and this post will be full of detours. If I ever get to the end of it. <br />
<br />
Let's see, Yesterday I took the subway to go somewhere. Did you notice, there are no escalators going down in some of the stations? I counted some of the steps, but lost count since I had to stop and do some calming breathing. Of course there is an elevator, but what the heck, the stairs would be<br />
Good exercise for me. <br />
<br />
Coming back, you guessed it, I was able to use the escalator. My exercise for the day was done.<br />
<br />
This morning was another exercise session. 20 whopping minutes. Excuse me, that is a lot for me,<br />
The one who sits on the chair most of the day. I cannot think of going to the gym anytime soon. <br />
<br />
I reached my toes, when standing up and bending down, including knee bending. I could tell you that<br />
To touch the toes without bending those cracking parts of your legs, it's a very remarkable achievement. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcke_fM6V38">Penny, from Big Bang Theory, does it very nicely, have you seen that one</a>? <br />
My touching isn't like hers, but more like Sheldon's.<br />
<br />
Love <a href="http://the-big-bang-theory.com/">that show</a>.<br />
<br />
This is going to be a good goal for me, to touch my toes. Perhaps pedicure would then become an <br />
Easier task. Well, I can touch the dang toes, but not the gymnastic way. Let's not go there. <br />
<br />
Talking about goals, Another football (ahem, it IS football) game on telly right now. <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3038598/Atletico-Madrid-vs-Real-Madrid-UEFA-Champions-League-LIVE-score-Follow-quarter-final-derby-action-happens.html">Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid playing </a><br />
No goals yet at that point when I linked it. Should I let them know about my goals? <br />
<br />
This year has been full of reading books, knitting and crocheting. One of the most touching books I read was <a href="http://kristinhannah.com/content/books_nightingale.php">"Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah.</a> What a beautifully written book. No wonder I've been a <br />
Bit lost continuing my reading with other types of books. Mainly some fluffy detective mysteries.<br />
<br />
An other book by Hannah, <a href="http://kristinhannah.com/content/books_firefly_lane.php">The Firefly Lane</a> I borrowed from the library, and is on my "Overdrive", however I cannot get the right feeling of the story, so I took a break, I still have a few days left before I must return it. <br />
<br />
What did I knit this year? Hats, scarves cowls and socks. I crocheted a blanket, which should be slightly bigger but the cats have decided that it's good enough for them.<br />

My friend Kathleen picked me up in the morning, and<br />
Another friend had picked another of my friends, <a href="http://blog.stashaholic.com/">Sherri</a> up, and we met at the<br />
<a href="http://www.jccc.on.ca/en/">Japanese Cultural Center.</a> <br />
<br />
It was a bit cool in the morning, so cool that I gave up and wore my<br />
knitted jacket. <br />
<br />
Once we got in, it was walking and checking the vendors` booths and<br />
all the good stuff they had brought in to sell. <br />
<br />
I fell in love this yarn:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It will take some time before I figure out what to use it for. Probably a shawl, a big one, since</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
there is quite a bit of yardage in each hank. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Yarn is Breathless Lace, from <a href="http://www.shalimaryarns.com/">Shalimar Yarns.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also bought a fabric bag that has cat designs on it, and a small cat pin for my </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
key ring (it`s tiny, though, but I think it will do)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkOMEMDvKXVVzafJL_jpdevvB05DSKIphx6KGTwq8lG00aiNDTWeRYJFK9EkMd9T8TA004reN38sX3BWda319UZrPaRoP5WuJaghb_eTnj8ccx60auV5WHVLV0nY3yrQ3cFfY5/s1600/DSCN6986.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkOMEMDvKXVVzafJL_jpdevvB05DSKIphx6KGTwq8lG00aiNDTWeRYJFK9EkMd9T8TA004reN38sX3BWda319UZrPaRoP5WuJaghb_eTnj8ccx60auV5WHVLV0nY3yrQ3cFfY5/s1600/DSCN6986.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After we had walked around enough, and bought what we had seen and wanted, we headed </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
for <a href="http://www.oldeyorkefishandchips.com/">Olde Yorke Fish and Chips</a> for</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Halibut and French Fries, Cole Slaw and Tartar Sauce. Oh, my it was yummy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The coffee was good too, I had two refills and no extra charge. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, then it was time to decide if we would go to another yarn place, this time</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
to see what is on sale in a yarn store not too, too far away from </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the restaurant. Off we went to <a href="http://www.sewknit.ca/">Sew and Knit Store.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I decided to get some sock yarn to make gifts, as I don`t wear hand knitted socks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
too often. I do like knitting them though, and I would say that 90% of the socks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have made, have been given as gifts. It`s a pleasure for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was a great way to spend a Saturday Morning, Noon and Afternoon with</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
good friends. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was time to come home, time to take a nap, time to take another nap, and</div>

organize the thoughts of what has to be done next.</div>

I am off work today, needed some time to think about things, and finish off<br />
the FreeForm crochet project for the Annual Challenge for <a href="http://www.intfff.com/">International Freeform Fiberart Guild.</a><br />
<br />
We now have two cats, Merlin, who came first, and then Missy, who arrived February 14th this year.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is Missy, the wicked one. Merlin looks on, I love that picture, actually both of these. The personality of both shows well in these pictures.<br />
<br />
I also made two hats,<br />

We had a weird winter, long and cold, lots of snow and it kept the spring waiting. But now it looks like we have warmer weather around us, at least in our area.<br />
This snow came on the 15th of April this year (2014).<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had also made a doll for a baby who was born late 2013. There is no pattern for this doll, I am sorry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's done with stash yarns, and using my imagination and creative fluids.</div>

This Shawl is for me, I think it's one of my favourites. I used Koigu yarns, and the pattern is from <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dispersion">here</a>.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have always been crazy about <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/karjalan-piirakka-karelian-pie-with-egg-butter-137150">Karelian pies</a>. I decided to try my skills on them, and they</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
looked like this before going into the oven. I tried, well, I think next time I have the urge to eat a pie,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will buy them, if I can catch them in a Finnish bakery<a href="http://www.yelp.ca/biz/hillside-cafe-toronto"> here</a>. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpF299WHpiCwVHH2zczCBRcQ5NcTFDuJ-TOkO7k0iRF7GJcilsIUYQTWrfD8uEwHc-HA7d-guWXJdkNVFdhxKLm9LGy4HvDGIgLQ4Qkaa2tdowfy19QJfzI-RcdWDLcr_9c7vZ/s1600/2014-03-27+18.27.05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpF299WHpiCwVHH2zczCBRcQ5NcTFDuJ-TOkO7k0iRF7GJcilsIUYQTWrfD8uEwHc-HA7d-guWXJdkNVFdhxKLm9LGy4HvDGIgLQ4Qkaa2tdowfy19QJfzI-RcdWDLcr_9c7vZ/s1600/2014-03-27+18.27.05.jpg" height="221" width="320" /></a></div>
Don't they look as homemade Karelian Pies? They were not too bad, but I had made a few baking<br />
mistakes, and that is the reason they were not those yummy ones I have eaten before. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There will be more posts in the future, as I might have more time to finish some knit and crochet projects.</div>

The taste was better the next day. <br />
<br />
Today I decided to make some more, since I have only some small pieces left.<br />
<br />
Found a nice recipe in <a href="http://www.etsiresepti.fi/click/index/2389055/?site=napertajanpaivakirja.blogspot.fi">this blog</a>, She has explained the method very clearly, even I can understand<br />
and follow it. The recipe is in Finnish, though, but my translation skills are not developed enough to do it here.<br />
<br />
BTW, here is a picture of my test bread:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_TqqSXYB3wmt9yFTxgRTA0pMMKgBGZXiZUJj9Wnv-bu7oH1sk58LAFZDDS2PCVnfKhrvDixuFhVVyZup2hqS4XK-oA4ebbFW8uDBg4U4qoP670txKI8qQbG9821bM7hOrxxTR/s1600/First+test+rye+bread.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_TqqSXYB3wmt9yFTxgRTA0pMMKgBGZXiZUJj9Wnv-bu7oH1sk58LAFZDDS2PCVnfKhrvDixuFhVVyZup2hqS4XK-oA4ebbFW8uDBg4U4qoP670txKI8qQbG9821bM7hOrxxTR/s320/First+test+rye+bread.jpg" width="282" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then I made more after the test ones. I still have two small ones in the freezer for lunch tomorrow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here is our beautiful Merlin</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Back to knitting, Chau!</div>

<br />Pirkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06342744450134406896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14851203.post-14089544311165010052013-11-10T13:31:00.002-05:002013-11-10T15:15:48.622-05:00Rye BreadI decided to tell you about my favorite foods, from way back when. When = when in Finland.<br />
First thing I must have is rye bread and home-made cheese, with butter milk. Yes, I am slightly<br />
strange, but that's me. Fortunately you can now buy that cheese in the grocery stores over there,<br />
and I don't even warm it up, I eat it while the wrapping is on...yes, I open it little bit first.<br />
<br />
The bread has to be the one with a hole in the middle, that's the best. Well, at least on top of the list. Buttermilk? It's much better than what I can buy here. Maybe the process is different, who knows, but it tastes so good, I could drink one liter just like that, with bread and cheese. <br />
<br />
A cousin of mine told me about making rye bread without the root, and of course I was immediately interested. I found the place and <a href="http://inspisinspis.blogspot.ca/">here</a> it is (in Finnish, though, but the translation is<br />
pretty good).<br />
There is also a Pulled Pork recipe, which looks delicious. I might try that one, too, one of these<br />
days.<br />
<br />
I also found some "homemade" - like cheese,<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queso_blanco"> Spanish fresh cheese</a>, and also some other, but forgot the name of it. Also, in some Italian grocery stores you can find Fesh Cheese, but I prefer the Spanish one. <br />
<br />
I took a picture of the rye bread dough, with my phone camera.<br />

I tell you about my knitting. I made a cowl for myself, which I will not wear unless the temperature outside is -20 or colder. The cowl, though is quite pretty, so I might use<br />
it for five minutes in a warmer weather, just to show off.<br />

I've also made some snowflakes. They are not your normal flakes, mine have colours. <br />

<br />
back pain for over a week. Have done too much lifting things, as in bags of yarn, boxes of yarn,<br />
just yarn. Let me explain, I have a stash room (second bedroom) full of stuff, mostly yarn, in boxes, plastic tubs, and bags. Decided to organize *organize*, me? Good grief!<br />
Well, I did some, and now the back is screaming. Tylenol 3 snubbed, Arthritis Tylenol laughed, standing and leaning against the table helped after half an hour. Sleep is great, no problem. <br />
<br />
Should I just sleep? NO, I must check the e-mail, check the Facebook, oh, and go to work. Work<br />
might have something to do with some pain to a degree. Sitting all day, working on a keyboard, trying to get the correct information into the record archives, inside the data files. That's hard work, and will cause discomfort sometimes. However, I do love my work, and have always enjoyed going to the office. Occasional getting up to go and fetch coffee or lunch, or water,<br />
is a good thing.<br />
<br />
Oh, I was not going to talk about work. Back to whining. No cork needed, since my whining has nothing to do with wine. <br />
<br />
This is my solution for the problem, Aleve, which may cause tummy pains, but which is worse?<br />
<br />
I realized something this morning, why is my back not in pain when I am in bed? I have a padding with magnetic buttons inside. Well, yeaah, sure. This morning I took one Aleve, found another of those paddings in the linen closet. Put it on my chair and what, I am practically pain free, unless I get up. Is it Aleve or the padding with magnets? Don't know, but I am going sit here all day, even<br />
if I don't have the witch powers to move things around with the wiggle of my nose (I can't do it anyway, even if I was a witch, which I might have been in my previous life, which is another story).<br />
<br />
On the reality side (whining isn't my daily topic):<br />
<br />
What's up? The Knitting goddess has been my friend for a good part of my weekly events.<br />
There is a shawl, a scarf, a jacket, a freeform thing, another shawl, something that I don't even<br />
know what, hats, and socks, but I am very organized (another "good grief). Organizing is not a word I use lightly.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

These are Hedwig socks (referring to Hedwig, Harry Potter's owl) for my step-daughter-in-law.<br />
I was going to add eyes and a nose but decided it was too much work. :-)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There has been some serious cabbage cooking too, in my kitchen. Cabbage soup, Cabbage rolls, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cabbage casserole, and last night a soup with chicken broth, cabbage, ground chicken, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, red onion, and some celery, that was in the back of the fridge, still good, surprise.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have lunches for two or three weeks now. Of course it's possible I will have something else, too, since I am already getting somewhat tired with cabbage. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't really have recipes for my cabbage dishes, I've used my imagination, and googled a few tricks and so on. I am a freestyle cook.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am also reading a lot these days, Currently <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/series/40423-louis-kincaid">P. J. Parrish's Louis Kincaid</a> series.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course some others, but these books are my latest fancy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first book "Dark of the Moon" came from library as it's not available for Kindle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have started it but not even half way thru, yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Came across with this post in FaceBook, and thought it was good</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Decided that this was enough for one post. Have to go and see if my mess will disappear at least a little bit. </div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I must be in a really deep slump. I've started 4 or 5 <a href="http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/donisfuff/croshawl.html">Seraphina</a> shawls this week, and having hard time with the yarn selection that would strike my interest.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Just to let you know, I have made at least 6 or 7 of those shawls already, all for gifts.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
The only yarn that I have enough is <a href="http://www.bernat.com/data/product/ball/ball_handicraftercrochetthread400g.jpg">Bernats Handicrafter crochet acrylic,</a> in aqua color. Which is kind of</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
growing into my liking department. Not frogging a dark green that I started first. Then I started another one with <a href="http://www.malabrigoyarn.com/images/yarn_sub_categorias/tn_418_1.jpg">malabrigo</a> yarn which can stay put since I really don't like the color, (what in the world made me buy that one???) it also it would be a shame to do all the work and not get a big enough shawl,(I have only two hanks of it) or trying to add some other color or hopefully similar color, but that would mean buying more yarn and I am definitely not in the mood for spending my coins on yarn (until the <a href="http://downtownknitcollective.ca/wp/?page_id=14">DKC Froli</a>c at the end of this month) I'll buy a coffee at <a href="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTwJRBH3E4Zz2ebKoHQ_uMpOH11GCXk2GvYDBraZsMm_0DYS4Fp">Tims</a> instead for now.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So, what else did I find in my rut? One of the threads that I tried to combine with a light yellow thread pleased </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
me to no end, and I decided to use it for another start of the spider web shawl. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I was too lazy to go and look for the book I got at <a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><span id="goog_1819292649"></span>Nina's<span id="goog_1819292650"></span></a>, knowing well enough that the pattern is there.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Instead I surfed the web, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/tour/getting-started">Ravelry</a> and some close-by magazines, close enough not to get up from my </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
chair. Merlin, the cat, would have been annoyed, as he was sleeping on his favorite place, on top of my expensive leather tote. How can I tell him no, when he looks so cute sleeping, all curled up to a nice black and white ball.<br />
<br />
I found one pattern in one of the magazines I had bought in Argentina. Instead of a square thingy for the web it had a pineapple design between the squares that were semi solid. This was not too exciting for me, however. I didn't like the way the edges were done and furthermore, the chart was not for the whole thing, only </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
part of it, and once I finished what was on the chart, I got totally confused how to continue. Frog pond</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
helloo. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Surfing again and found this one</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<a href="http://cynscorner.blogspot.ca/2007/01/yellow-shawlshrugscarf-crochet.html" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">http://cynscorner.blogspot.ca/<wbr></wbr>2007/01/yellow-<wbr></wbr>shawlshrugscarf-crochet.html</a><br />
<br />
This is what I did so far<br />
(added on April 19th, 2013)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyeFuR5bt1Wnno-GprtdTKMSQcAFrT-CTKOyqdgOQ5p6MarcrYzSoCuROnxxIHjXxCIMQ2j6wDTEul_RGHlFpoDFRF6RGIyjo-hEh_blGzbhaBtqlJ3f-l7m1OQO4_lawU1-Fa/s1600/spiderweb+shawl+start.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="131" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyeFuR5bt1Wnno-GprtdTKMSQcAFrT-CTKOyqdgOQ5p6MarcrYzSoCuROnxxIHjXxCIMQ2j6wDTEul_RGHlFpoDFRF6RGIyjo-hEh_blGzbhaBtqlJ3f-l7m1OQO4_lawU1-Fa/s320/spiderweb+shawl+start.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
no pattern though but a picture, which was so small that I haphazardly guessed how it was done. Of course, </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
when I got to the row where I should have started the second set of spider webs, it didn't make any sense, in my very un-logical mind. (that is not a real word, I don't like the word illogical because it sounds like illegal).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I sat in the bus this morning and crocheted, happily, because I really liked the way this lady had done her</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
shawl. I must have had a brain cramp, since I didn't think of making the picture larger. ( I did that at work, and</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
it was clear that I had swayed away from the real thing and had done my own design.)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Sht happens. Still in the bus, I frogged the creation almost to the beginning, put it in my bag and started reading my semi-fun book of senior citizens in a tour in Ireland. Mind you, I only have the preview, if I like it enough, I must buy the rest of it. I read the first book in the series, and it was not too bad. Totally different from the detective thrillers that I have been reading lately. I like those, but sometimes a person needs a break from<br />
routine, doesn't she? Oh, the book at the bus, <a href="http://www.maddyhunter.com/books.html">Maddy Hunter</a>: <b>Top O' The Mournin'</b>. I had read <b>Alpine for You </b>and also have lined-up <b>Norway To Hide. </b>The first half of the first book (Alpine) was making me wonder why<br />
I bought the book, but then, stubborn as I am, kept reading, and slowly started liking the story. Some books are<br />
not in my immediate reaction to like section. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
At work I checked my files, and found the "real" pattern, the one in <a href="http://www.katia.com/revista.php?idRevista=6768&lng=EN">Katia</a> magazine that I had bought at <a href="http://www.creativeyarns.ca/">Creative</a> Yarns.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I had scanned the chart for my <b>OWN</b> use. (if anyone wants a copy, talk to Nina, please, I ain't giving my copy to anyone.<br />
<br />
My day was starting to look pretty good. I came in about an hour early, so I could tell about my insane events that eventually clear up with a project that will make me happy, until the next interesting project comes along.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>

I will keep my hook and thread close-by at lunch, and hope that nobody starts chatting with me, I want to be alone in my little crochet world. </div>

It's a little hard to get a good video from the balcony door, but here it is. Our big winter storm that has caused many cancellations for colleges, universities, school buses and perhaps some businesses.</div>

I am at home, decided to take a vacation day. It's hard to run after a bus with my coughing spells. </div>

Not sure if my work office is closed, it's too early to call there.</div>

I will do my Saturday chores today and enjoy the rest of the weekend doing what I enjoy.</div>

Merlin went to check the snow, and was quite interested. He even went around in the balcony.<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzn6aqfmomvYZaXnC1gE5PIXKJOotIA-VXSRWA2ea4MOBC55rlMpxFsQqkbsNBK_yD22Vk0GpME5Gg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>

I was fortunate to change my doctor's appointment from tomorrow to today, noon, if I made to the office before noon. I was there ten minutes before. (counts as positive)<br />
I left the Center with new medication for my cough, which has been present since October last year. Some days awful, some not. Today was the awful one. (counts as negative)<br />
<br />
I changed the appointment in case tomorrow was going to be a no-go due to heavy snow fall. <a href="http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/caon0696">Weather </a>people predicted some mean piles of snow. I was not going to drive to work, was going to take the bus, which would have been somewhat aggravating for my cough. <br />
<br />
I came home, had lunch, and went to bed to finish a story that I had been reading lately. I had a two hour nap which made me very happy. Merlin came to take his nap with me, but had found another place later, since he was nowhere in sight when I woke up. He has a few cat-nap (as per <a href="http://stashaholic.com/">Sherri</a> ) locations. <br />
<br />
I am on "vacation" tomorrow, nursing my cold with my new medication, and taking naps when ever the need arises. <br />
<br />
There is no snow coming down right now, but apparently tonight is the heavy fall. I predict that all that snow will by-pass our area, it has happened. <br />
<br />
A friend of mine, <a href="http://jkbees.blogspot.ca/">Janet,</a> has a beautiful art blog. She is talented and oh, so creative. Every time I look at her art, I want to take my sketch book and pencils and start drawing. When I go to my "creative" bag, there<br />
is always a knitting or crochet project on top, and there goes the urge to draw. One of these days I will<br />
toss all the other projects out of the way and do some serious drawing. But first I will finish my February socks. <br />
<br />
Merlin, the cat, likes to watch TV, Specially animal shows and lately the soccer games (football in my books)<br />
Here he is watching the Spain vs. Uruguay game<br />
